4. Examinations and Assessments
4.9 Use of AI
The department encourages the experimentation with, and confident use of, generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) tools. However, their usage must be declared in the same way that existing literature or available software has to be referenced adequately. You are not required to make a statement in your written reports explaining your use of AI, but you will be required to fill in a form when you submit these reports via Inspera so it is recommended you keep a note of your AI usage throughout the project. If you do not complete the AI form in sufficient detail, you will be asked to add further information after submission.
Make sure you read the policy for students on the use of generative AI in summatively assessed work which you can find at https://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/members/students/departmental-and-university-regulations.
The University has useful information on provision of Generative AI Tools to Support Learning.
