Course overview:
Lecturer: Fabrizio Caola
Course synopsis:
This course will introduce modern scattering amplitudes techniques, with an emphasis on their underlying mathematical structure and their connections to observable physics. We will begin with the basic principles and structure of scattering amplitudes before developing modern techniques based on unitarity and exploring the rich mathematical ideas that have emerged from the study of amplitudes. Particular attention will be paid to how these structures provide new ways of organising and computing physical observables. Time permitting, we will examine the singularity structure of amplitudes and discuss applications to collider physics, effective field theories and possibly gravity
