This sheet corresponds to work in Weeks 5 and 6. Recommended reading is given covering the 1816 English translation of Lacroix's Elementary Treatise on the calculus (this reading is a bare minimum, you are expected to find further sources). The essay assignment is given, for submission by Friday 9am of Week 6, which will be discussed in the class in Week 7.
